Terms of Use

Please read section 6 carefully. Klyn can remove photos, videos, contacts and mail at your instruction. Emptying mail Trash or Spam is permanent. You are responsible for what you choose to delete and for keeping backups.
1. Acceptance
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and the developer of Klyn ("we", "us") covering the Klyn iPhone application and this website. By downloading or using Klyn you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
2. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use Klyn on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, sell, rent, sub-licence, reverse-engineer or attempt to derive the source code of the app, except where that restriction is prohibited by law.
Klyn and its design, name and content remain our property.
3. Klyn Pro and subscriptions
Klyn is free to use with a weekly allowance. Without Pro you may remove up to 10 photos or videos, move 200 mail messages to Trash, compress 1 video and merge 3 duplicate contacts per calendar week; moving photos from your library into the Vault requires Pro. Scanning, reviewing and every detection feature are unlimited and free. The allowance resets at the start of each calendar week.
Klyn Pro removes those limits. We may adjust the free allowance in future versions; any change applies to future use, not retroactively, and will be described in the App Store release notes.
Pro is available in two forms:
- A monthly auto-renewing subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. It renews automatically at the same price each month unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- A one-time lifetime purchase. No recurring charge. "Lifetime" means the lifetime of the app, not of any person, and does not oblige us to publish the app indefinitely.
You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings on your device. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Prices are shown in the app in your local currency and may vary by region. We may change prices for future periods; Apple will notify you and ask for consent where required, and you may cancel before the change takes effect.
4. Free trial
The monthly subscription may include a free trial for Apple Accounts that are eligible for it. Eligibility is determined by Apple, once per subscription group. The app only offers a trial when Apple confirms you can take it, and states its exact length before you subscribe.
Unless you cancel before the trial ends, it converts into a paid subscription automatically and your Apple Account is charged. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid this. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited if you buy a subscription during the trial period.
5. Refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple, and refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies. We cannot issue, approve or refuse refunds. To request one, use Apple's "Report a Problem" page or contact Apple Support. Statutory rights to cancel or obtain a refund in your country are not affected.
6. Deletion and data loss
Klyn helps you remove items from your device and your mailbox. Deleted photos may remain in Recently Deleted; mail moved to Trash may remain recoverable until Trash is emptied.
By using Klyn you acknowledge that:
- You choose what is deleted. Klyn shows photo and mail suggestions for review. iOS asks you to confirm photo deletions. Emptying mail Trash or Spam has a separate confirmation in Klyn.
- Automatic detection is not perfect. Photos identified as duplicates, lookalikes, screenshots, blurry or low-value are best efforts, not guarantees. Review them before deleting.
- Deleted photos and videos go to Recently Deleted, where iOS keeps them for approximately 30 days before removing them permanently. Deleted contacts and converted Live Photos may not be recoverable at all.
- Mail moved to Trash may be recoverable through your provider until you empty it. Emptying Trash or Spam permanently removes those messages and cannot be undone through Klyn.
- Video compression is lossy. A compressed copy is of lower quality than the original by design. Klyn creates the copy first and only then offers to delete the original — check the copy before you accept.
- You are responsible for your own backups. We strongly recommend an up-to-date iCloud or computer backup before any bulk deletion or contact merge.
We are not liable for the loss of any photo, video, contact, document or other data resulting from your use of Klyn, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
7. The Vault
The Vault stores files inside the app's own container, protected by iOS file protection and a passcode you choose. The passcode is stored only as a cryptographic hash.
There is no recovery mechanism. If you forget your passcode, neither we nor Apple can restore access, and the only way forward is to erase the contents. Vault contents are removed if you delete the app. Do not use the Vault as your only copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
8. Acceptable use
Use Klyn only on devices and data you own or are authorised to manage. Do not use it to access, alter or delete anyone else's data without their permission, and do not use it for any unlawful purpose.
9. No warranty
Klyn is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will identify every file worth removing, or only files worth removing.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of Klyn.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Klyn in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Consumers keep all statutory rights.
11. Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Klyn or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Klyn.
If Klyn fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to Klyn. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim relating to Klyn, including product liability claims, consumer-protection claims, or claims that Klyn infringes a third party's intellectual property rights.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
12. Changes and termination
We may update these terms. The date at the top will change, and continuing to use Klyn after an update means you accept the revised terms. We may stop distributing or supporting Klyn at any time. Your licence ends if you breach these terms or delete the app.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in its courts.
